Crafted in Union County is Back
Crafted in Union County, an event that connects high school seniors with local manufacturing companies, will take place this year on October 23. With nearly 30% of Union County’s workforce employed in manufacturing, exposing students to career opportunities they may not be aware of is essential for strengthening the future workforce. Ahead of the event, a Business Impact Breakfast will be hosted, offering another chance to learn about the industry during Manufacturing Month.

Ohio Life Sciences Launches “Life Science Ready Community” Designation and Industry Guide
Ohio Life Sciences Association (OLS) has launched a new Life Science Ready Community Designation Program to help Ohio cities, townships, and counties attract and support growth in the life sciences industry. The program certifies communities as Emerging, Advanced, or Premier based on criteria such as infrastructure, workforce, real estate, and policy readiness. The designation is designed to give communities a competitive edge when pursuing new investment and development opportunities.
To complement the designation, OLS partnered with Montrose Group to release a Life Sciences Industry Guide, offering best practices for municipalities and economic developers on zoning, workforce development, infrastructure, and innovation ecosystems. Both resources were developed with input from a statewide advisory committee to ensure they address real-world needs.

Ohio Named One of the Top States for Business
Ohio ranks second among all U.S. states in the newly released 2025 Site Selection Global Groundwork Index, which measures investment readiness, infrastructure strength, and project activity. Columbus claimed the top spot among metro areas nationwide. For communities like Marysville, this national recognition highlights the value of ongoing investments in infrastructure and innovation.
The index combines private-sector project data with infrastructure funding metrics to identify which states and metros are best positioned for future growth. Ohio’s strong showing reflects its transportation networks, rail capacity, and major road improvements such as the new I-270 to I-70 flyover in Columbus. Marysville is positioned to capture more investment and job growth as companies look to Ohio for stable, future-ready locations.

Memorial Health plans $56M ER addition

Construction is expected to begin in 2026.
