International Representation in
> United Kingdom
International companies wishing to invest in the United States are the basis of foreign direct investment (FDI). The United States and the Columbus Region are recognized as strong places to conduct business and are at the forefront of innovation. That especially is true in Union County, where Japanese-owned companies in particular provide employment for thousands of residents. As a community, we see the many benefits it has for economic development. It diversifies the workforce, creates jobs, and often enhances an already-dynamic business environment.
Foreign-owned companies show a great amount of interest in our industry clusters, including automotive, chemicals, smart mobility, research and development, and agriculture.
> 39.8% of employees work for foreign-owned companies,
the highest rate in Ohio.
A Special Relationship
Our very special and unique relationship with Japan began over 40 years ago, and it's only gotten stronger over time. There is no question that Japan and Japanese businesses and nationals have a special place in our community.
We are thrilled to present this special feature outlining this relationship.
