Union County is centrally located in the Columbus metropolitan area. Located just 40 minutes northwest of downtown Columbus, Union County offers businesses and residents easy access to Central Ohio and multiple markets throughout the Midwest, Great Lakes, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeast.

HIGHWAY

Union County is served by US-33, a four-lane, divided, limited-access freeway. Nearby interstate highways 270, 70, 71, and 75 reach nearly half the population and manufacturing capacity of the U.S. and Canada in one day’s drive. 

FREIGHT & PORT 

The Heartland Corridor allows double-stacked freight trains to travel directly from the Port of Virginia (Norfolk International Terminals) to a state-of-the-art intermodal facility located at Rickenbacker International Airport in Columbus.

CSX and Norfolk Southern serves Union County as part of the National Gateway Corridor. The NGC provides the region with additional port connections in Baltimore and Wilmington.

The Toledo Seaport, located less than two hours from Union County, is equipped with on dock rail, truck scales, shore cranes, ship loading conveyor systems and ample indoor and outdoor warehouse storage all within Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) #8.

AIR SERVICE

John Glenn Columbus International Airport serves as the region’s premier international airport, offering 160 daily departures to 32 airports, making it one of the nation’s top “90-Minute Air Markets.” In 2015, Port Columbus carriers added non-stop air service to San Francisco (Oakland), Boston, Dallas, and Washington, DC.

The Dayton International Airport is also within an hour of Union County and offers flights to points throughout the United States.

The Union County Airport in Marysville is a general aviation airport serving local interests. It has one runway designated 9/27 with an asphalt surface measuring 4,218 feet.

CARGO AIR SERVICE

Rickenbacker International Airport is a high-speed international, multi-modal logistics hub and strategically planned cargo complex serving several key business segments, including: international airfreight, cargo airlines, freight forwarders, and logistics firms. Located just south of Columbus, Rickenbacker contains two 12,000-foot runways capable of handling any aircraft in the world.
